Nick Haynes will return to the GIANTS side to take on the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Saturday afternoon.

The intercepting defender, who hasn’t played since injuring his hamstring in round six against the Bulldogs in Canberra, is the only change to the side who faced Carlton a fortnight ago.

Haynes has developed into one of the club’s most important backline players, able to play tall or short and reading the ball exceptionally well.

“Nick has been training well and it’s terrific to have him return to our backline after missing the last six games,” Cameron said.

“He’s a very popular member of our group and we’re excited to see him return to the field.”

Midfielder Josh Kelly, who has been under an injury cloud with a hip complaint, will be given every chance to play this week and has been named on a half forward flank.

First-year defender Harry Perryman is the omission with Daniel Lloyd, Jeremy Finlayson and Tim Mohr named as the emergencies.

Forward Rory Lobb will return via the NEAFL to regain his match fitness following four weeks on the sidelines with a groin injury.

The GIANTS Reserves face the Lions Reserves at South Pine Sports Complex in Brisbane at 12pm on Saturday.

The GIANTS head to Brisbane to take on the Lions in round 14 on Saturday, June 24 at 4.35pm with live coverage on 7mate in NSW and the ACT and Fox Footy all around Australia.
