The next generation of female footballers from New South Wales and the ACT will be on show at Spotless Stadium on Saturday as part of the Females in Football Round, presented by Harvey Norman.

The curtain-raiser will see NSW/ACT Under 18s Youth Girls team take on the Harvey Norman Invitational team, with both sides packed with talent.

The state’s best young football talent will be featured in the game, with the Harvey Norman Invitational side comprised of athletes from NSW/ACT who are aiming to make the state’s academy squads.

The match is not only a precursor to the GIANTS’ AFL blockbuster against Collingwood but serves as a warm up match for the NSW/ACT Youth Girls team ahead of their 2017 NAB AFL Women’s U18 Championships, beginning later this month.

All females playing or involved in football have also been invited to participate in the Harvey Norman Lap of Honour around Spotless Stadium at half time.

Harvey Norman’s support of the Females in Football Round and Saturday’s curtain raiser continues their passionate support for women in sport.

Harvey Norman was the GIANTS’ inaugural AFL Women’s major partner and is also the major sponsor of the Auburn GIANTS, Australia’s first predominantly multicultural women’s AFL club in the heart of Western Sydney.

Their support for women in sport isn’t limited to the football field with Harvey Norman a sponsor of Australia’s National Rugby League women’s side, the Jillaroos, and backing Team Harvey Norman in the Virgin Australia Supercars, with female driver Simona de Silvestro behind the wheel.

The match kicks off at 1.50pm at Spotless Stadium on Saturday before the GIANTS return to Sydney to take on Collingwood at 4.35pm. Click here for tickets.
