The GIANTS are proud to once again support White Ribbon at Friday night’s huge blockbuster game against the Western Bulldogs in Canberra.

The GIANTS have been a strong supporter of White Ribbon since the club’s inception and they are a premium community partner of the club.

GIANTS co-captains Callan Ward and Phil Davis are passionate ambassadors for White Ribbon in supporting Australia’s only national, male led campaign to end violence against women.

Last weekend the GIANTS united with the Swans to celebrate the twelfth instalment of the Sydney Derby with co-captain Phil Davis accepting the White Ribbon Cup as the GIANTS won the game by 42 points.

On Friday night at UNSW Canberra Oval, the GIANTS will again highlight the importance of White Ribbon as they come together with the Western Bulldogs, who have also been strong supporters of the organisation.

The GIANTS and Bulldogs have co-produced a video featuring GIANTS White Ribbon ambassador and co-captain Phil Davis, White Ribbon supporters from both sides Dylan Shiel and Matthew Boyd, and Bulldogs’ White Ribbon ambassador and coach Luke Beveridge.

The clubs will also encourage all fans to stand and take the White Ribbon Oath at the ground prior to the first bounce.

I will stand up,
I will speak out,
I will act, to prevent men’s violence against women.
This is my Oath.

One woman a week in Australia is killed as a result of intimate partner violence, one in five Australian women experience harassment in the workplace and one in five women over the age of 18 will be stalked in their lifetime.

The White Ribbon campaign works through primary prevention initiatives including awareness and education raising with schools, work places and across the broader community.

Their vision is to have all women live in safety free from all forms of men’s violence.

Please help the cause and purchase a white ribbon for just $2 from volunteers outside the the ground on Friday night.
