The Swans' Luke Parker and GIANT Callan Ward with the White Ribbon Cup at the SCG this week.

The GIANTS are proud to support White Ribbon again on Saturday night as they take on the Swans at the SCG in Sydney Derby XII.

The White Ribbon Cup was launched at the inaugural Sydney Derby in round one, 2012 with the GIANTS currently holding the Cup after taking the points in round 12 last season.

While the silverware wasn’t on the line the last time the two teams met in the 2016 Qualifying final, Saturday night will play be the eleventh time the GIANTS and Swans play for the White Ribbon Cup.

The GIANTS have been a strong supporter of White Ribbon since the club’s inception and they are a premium community partner of the club.

GIANTS co-captains Callan Ward and Phil Davis are passionate ambassadors for White Ribbon in supporting Australia’s only national, male led campaign to end violence against women.

The winning captain will be presented with the White Ribbon Cup following Saturday’s game with the player judged best on ground to receive the Brett Kirk Medal.

One woman a week in Australia is killed as a result of intimate partner violence, one in five Australian women experience harassment in the workplace and one in five women over the age of 18 will be stalked in their lifetime.

The White Ribbon campaign works through primary prevention initiatives including awareness and education raising with schools, work places and across the broader community.

Their vision is to have all women live in safety free from all forms of men’s violence.

Please help the cause and purchase a white ribbon from volunteers outside the SCG on Saturday night.

The GIANTS will continue their strong partnership with White Ribbon through to round six where the organisation will be the community match day partner of the GIANTS’ first-ever Friday night game against the Western Bulldogs in Canberra.

There will again be white ribbons to purchase outside UNSW Canberra Oval on April 28 with fans also encouraged to stand up, speak out and act in the face of domestic violence by participating in the White Ribbon Oath prior to the first bounce.

The GIANTS take on the Swans in Sydney Derby XII on Saturday, April 22 at 7:25pm at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Please note this is a Swans home game with GIANTS members needing to purchase a ticket for access to this match. Click here to buy tickets.
