GIANTS forwards Daniel Lloyd and Sam Reid have been upgraded to the senior list ahead of round one this weekend.

Under the Nominated Rookie Rule, an AFL club is eligible to nominate a rookie player who can play during the premiership season and finals series if a club has 38 players on its list (not including veteran players) and it satisfies the Total Player Payments requirements.

Lloyd played the first two games in the JLT Community Series in his second season in the AFL. He was one of the GIANTS' best in the opening game against West Coast, kicking two goals and gathering 10 possessions.

The 25-year old joined the GIANTS ahead of the 2015 season after a dominant year playing for Killarney Vale Bombers on the Central Coast in the Black Diamond Football League.

Reid, 27, returns to the senior list after playing six games in 2016.

After retiring from AFL in 2013 due to persistent injuries, Reid was one of the feel-good stories of 2016 when he returned to the AFL to complete a remarkable comeback.

The pair of elevations come days after Tendai Mzungu was promoted from the rookie list after a strong showing throughout his first pre-season at the club.
