The GIANTS have been recognised at the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence for their new brand campaign.

The GIANTS won the Telstra Business Centre West Sydney Excellence in Marketing Award at a gala event in Homebush on Friday night.

The GIANTS launched their new brand campaign - There’s a GIANT in all of us - in April this year.

The campaign focuses on the GIANTS’ passage from humble beginnings to a recognisable force representing the communities of Western Sydney and Canberra.

“As a club we went on a journey of what our brand really represented over the past 18 months,” said GIANTS GM Marketing and Consumer Rebecca Shaw.

“When this was tested in the market it aligned to the ambitions of the people of Western Sydney in terms of having a go, pride in their region and being generically optimistic.

“We thank David Whittle of Lexar (previously the Managing Director of M&C SAATCHI) and Digby Richards, CEO of Richards Rose, for their passion for the club to support the GIANTS in developing the campaign.

"We also thank the many people in the community who assisted us in the research to determine that this was a campaign that would resonate.

“‘There’s a GIANT in all of us’ is still in its early evolution. It will continue to grow and evolve to create aspirational stories for the people of Western Sydney, Canberra and the broader GIANTS supporter bases to connect to.”

The campaign encapsulates the shared passion between players and fans with the centerpiece being the synergy between GIANTS forward Jeremy Cameron and young GIANTS supporter Lincoln Summons as they both prepare for game day.

A second piece released earlier this year connects with the wider GIANTS community that has seen the club grow.

The latest piece focuses on Jeremy Cameron’s passage from a 17-year-old joining the club from the tiny town of Dartmoor in western Victoria to being the GIANTS’ four-time leading goal kicker and first ever All Australian.

Using a combination of inner sanctum vision and audio recordings of Cameron, the emotive piece tells the story of his - and the club’s - journey to where we are today.

Over the coming weeks the GIANTS will also release pieces with ruckman Shane Mumford and young defender Zac Williams that show, There’s a GIANT in all of us.

The GIANTS now qualify as state finalists in the NSW Business Chamber Awards.
