GIANTS forward Rory Lobb has been cleared of any structural damage to his ankle but suffered a minor knee injury in Saturday’s win over the Tigers.

Lobb took no further part in the match after a Richmond player landed on his leg late in the third term in Canberra.

The 23-year old watched on from the bench in the final term with ice on his knee as well as a protective boot on his ankle as a precaution.

Lobb underwent scans on his ankle and knee on Sunday, revealing a grade one strain to his medial collateral ligament (MCL).

Lobb has played every game so far in his break out season, with GIANTS medical staff to make a call on his availability in the coming days.

“We’ll monitor Rory closely over the next 48 hours but are not expecting an extended lay off,” said GIANTS’ Head of Athletic Performance, David Joyce.

“The MCL injury is at the minor end of the scale, but we’ll take a cautious approach as we look to get Rory back on field.”

Meanwhile, the GIANTS' injury list is looking in good shape ahead of round 20 with midfield pair Jack Steele and Jacob Hopper both hopeful of returning to the field this weekend.

Defender Aidan Corr is also likely to return through the NEAFL, having not played since round three due to an ankle injury.
