Young midfielder Jack Steele will miss the GIANTS’ trip to Adelaide with injury while four players have been added to the 25-man squad to face the Power on Sunday.

Steele will miss the round 18 clash with a hand injury suffered in the GIANTS’ win over Brisbane last weekend. The 20-year-old Academy graduate has played 10 games in his second season in the AFL.

Into the squad come defender Nathan Wilson, midfielders Jake Barrett and Matt Kennedy as well as forward James Stewart.

Wilson is a chance to return from groin soreness that has seen him miss the past two matches after playing every game prior to that in a career-best season.

Also named on an extended interchange bench is young midfielder Matt Kennedy, with the 2015 number 13 draft pick having played two games since making his AFL debut in round 13 against the Bombers.

Kennedy had 33 touches and laid 10 tackles in the WSU GIANTS’ NEAFL loss to the Brisbane Lions last weekend.

Fellow midfielder Jake Barrett was near best on ground in that match with 34 disposals and a goal and is looking to add to his solitary AFL appearance in round 23 last season.

Forward James Stewart joins the trio in the 25-man squad with the 196cm and 93kg big man kicking 27 goals in the NEAFL so far this year.

The final side to face the Power at Adelaide Oval will be named on gwsgiants.com.au at 5pm on Friday.

The fourth-placed GIANTS take on the ninth-placed Power at Adelaide Oval on Sunday afternoon.
