Defender Adam Kennedy will miss the next 2-3 weeks due to a shoulder injury.

Kennedy landed heavily in the closing stages of the GIANTS match against Adelaide in round 10 and missed the match in Geelong.

The tough defender was cleared of concussion shortly after the match but an injury to his AC joint will see him sidelined for atleast the next fortnight.

Meanwhile, forward Rhys Palmer is expected to be available for selection after missing the trip to Geelong with a toe injury.

Experienced midfielder Ryan Griffen is also a strong chance to return to the field having missed six weeks with a back injury.

When speaking to the media earlier on Tuesday, coach Leon Cameron said a call on Griffen’s availability will be made later in the week.

“He’s got to train really well this week though.” Cameron said.

“It’s a big ask to pick him off the back of six weeks not playing.

“He is a senior player, so that goes to his advantage but saying that, the back injury he had restricted him for two or three of those weeks that he was off.”

Forward James Stewart will also face a fitness test this week after missing two games with an ITB (leg) injury.

Defenders Aidan Corr, Caleb Marchbank and Tim Mohr as well as forward Devon Smith remain in the rehab group and will resume playing in the coming weeks.
