Defender Adam Kennedy will miss Saturday’s match against Geelong after landing heavily late in the game against Adelaide.

Further assessment on his back and shoulder is required to determine how long he will be sidelined however he’s been cleared of concussion.

In better news for the GIANTS, co-captain Phil Davis is available for selection after spending three weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Close to returning against the Crows last week, Davis is expected to line up at Simonds Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

A host of players will undergo fitness tests later this week to determine their availability for this weekend’s AFL and NEAFL matches.

Defender Matt Buntine missed last week’s match with concussion but could line up against Geelong on Saturday.

Forward James Stewart (knee), midfielder Jake Barrett (hip) and Jeremy Finlayson (foot) are all listed as tests.

Stewart has missed just one match with an ITB (leg) injury while Barrett strained his hip flexor a fortnight ago.

Finlayson picked up a minor foot injury in the NEAFL clash against Aspley but could be available for this week.

Despite missing the fourth term of the NEAFL match, Tom Downie has been cleared of any damage to his elbow.

Ryan Griffen continues his recovery from a back injury and is one week away from a return while Aidan Corr is 2-3 weeks away with his ankle injury.

Caleb Marchbank’s rehabilitation from his syndesmotic ankle injury is continuing and he is four weeks away from selection.

Tim Mohr (hamstring, 3-5 weeks) and Devon Smith (knee, 6-7 weeks) are also both continuing their recoveries from their respective injuries.
