The GIANTS’ 75-point thrashing of Hawthorn on Saturday afternoon has been rewarded with six GIANTS selected in the AFL's Team of the Week for round six.

For the second week in a row, the GIANTS have the most representatives of any club with Heath Shaw and Stephen Coniglio picked for the second week running.

Reigning club champion, Shaw is in the best form of his career and was instrumental off half back against the Hawks.

Coniglio, who was elevated to the club’s leadership group ahead of this season, put in another standout performance, running with Sam Mitchell and getting plenty of his own ball.

Former number one draft pick Lachie Whitfield made use of his hard running ability and classy finishing to hurt the Hawks while former nemesis Steve Johnson continued to torment the three time reigning premiers.

Johnson needed just a half to kick five goals against the Hawks, taking his tally to 16 for the season.

Emerging tall forward Rory Lobb kicked four goals as well as being a handful in the ruck, also taking eight contested marks for the game, just two below the AFL record.

Rounding out the six is midfielder Dylan Shiel who was the leading possession winner on the ground on Saturday with 34 touches and eight clearances.
