Our Season Summary looks back at how each GIANTS player fared during the 2015 AFL season.

Name: Rory Lobb

Number: 37

2015 Games:  9 AFL, 10 NEAFL

AFL Fantasy Average: 55

Awards: Nil

Background: Rory Lobb was selected with pick 29 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft. He made his debut in Round 12, 2014 and slotted a goal with his first kick.

Best Game: AFL Round 16 v Gold Coast - 9 touches, 17 hit-outs, 2 tackles and 2 goals.

Summary: Still honing his game, Lobb this year established himself more as a goal-kicking forward who can help out with ruck-work around the ground. Lobb was dangerous in the NEAFL, kicking bags of five and seven goals on separate occasions. Lobb was given his opportunity at senior level when Shane Mumford went down with an ankle injury in Round 11 and played nine AFL games this season. He continues to learn each week from the more experienced players and has now given coach Leon Cameron a selection headache when it comes to choosing target forwards.

Pat On The Back: Lobb and fellow ruckman Tom Downie stepped up when the club needed them in the absence of dominant big-man Shane Mumford.

What They Said: “Lobb performed really well but he was also quite unselfish which was great to see. It’s a good sign when our forwards are trying to bring other players into the game instead of blazing away themselves." - NEAFL Coach Brett Hand

Look Ahead: 2016 could be the break-out season for Lobb who showed some great signs this year. Lobb will be aiming to improve his consistency over four quarters and will hopefully be able to bring that NEAFL dominance to senior level.
