If nothing else, GIANT Rory Lobb will be easy to spot in the 13 CABS AFL Grand Final Sprint.

The 206cm ruckman is a somewhat surprising selection to represent the GIANTS in the 100m half-time sprint at the MCG on Grand Final day.

Not exactly known for his speed, the agile GIANT was asked why he volunteered and cheekily admitted it was for the free tickets to the AFL’s greatest day of the year.

Late to AFL, it’ll be the native West Australian’s first-ever Grand Final and he’ll be attending with a group of hardcore West Coast Eagles mates from back home.

But with legs longer than most normal humans, the former painter, labourer, machine operator and landscaper reckons he’s a “sneaky chance” of taking out the title.

In his second year at the GIANTS, it’s been a career-best year for Lobb, taking up the ruck duties after a mid-season injury to Shane Mumford, Lobb played nine games and kicked six goals in 2015 after being selected at pick 29 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft.

Lobb is one of 18 players - as well as two taxi drivers - split into two heats, who will compete at the Grand Final for the honour of being crowned the AFL's fastest man.

Adelaide goalsneak Charlie Cameron, Richmond's Anthony Miles, St Kilda veteran Leigh Montagna, Melbourne forward Jay Kennedy-Harris, Swans utility Dean Towers, North Melbourne's Majak Daw and Collingwood’s Darcy Moore could all be in the mix to take out the title.

Geelong's Jordan Murdoch won't be back to defend the crown he won in 2014 after having hand surgery at the end of the season.

Two drivers from 13 CABS - Gurdev Singh and Parminder Singh - will carry the flag for the taxi-driving fraternity.

The cabbies dropped by GIANTS HQ recently to go through a practice session with young gun Dylan Shiel after qualifying in the Sydney heats held before a GIANTS game earlier this year.

The heats will be run at 12.30pm on the MCG with the final to take place at half-time of the 2015 Toyota AFL Grand Final.
