It’s #MulticulturalRound this weekend and to celebrate the GIANTS are diversifying their social media accounts during the match against Essendon.

To kick things off we’ll be snapchatting the huge amount of pre-game activities around Spotless Stadium including the Chinese Lion dancers, Arabic drummers and Bollywood performers.

During the first quarter we’ll be tweeting the action in a variety of different languages other than English to reach new audiences from diverse backgrounds.

At half time there will also be a live periscope to capture some new Australian citizens participating in Auskick for the first time in the middle of Spotless Stadium.

During the third term the GIANTS will hand over their Twitter and Facebook accounts to Baoming Li, who has never watched an AFL game before.

Mr Li – who is taking part in the pre-game citizenship ceremony - will post his thoughts about the match and communicate a unique perspective about what is taking place on the field.

The GIANTS will also post a vine of commentator Rick Kerbatieh who will be broadcasting the match in Arabic on the GIANTS App.

You can find the GIANTS on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Vine by typing @GWSGIANTS into the search bar.

Multicultural Round highlights the contribution multicultural communities have made to the game’s history and welcomes new communities to embrace Australian Football as fans, players, umpires or administrators.

Sunday’s celebrations will focus on the Arabic community as well as a host of other diverse nationalities including the Indian and Chinese communities.
