Australian rock icon DIESEL will perform live on the Virgin Australia Stage at Spotless Stadium when the GIANTS host Essendon.

The GIANTS' round 19 match against the Bombers on Sunday August 9 will include a half-time show by DIESEL as well as a 30-minute post-match performance in a purpose-built stage just metres from the field.

This announcement follows Justice Crew’s impressive performance during round six, Aussie rock icon Shannon Noll wowing the crowd in round eight and pop star Nathaniel taking to the stage during round 12.

Mark Lizotte aka DIESEL grew up in Australia has been a mainstay of the Australian entertainment industry for over 30 years. He embarked on a solo career in 1991 and in 2011 celebrated 25 years in the industry.

With over 35 singles, 13 albums, six ARIA awards and record sales edging 1 million, DIESEL is a journeyman of music. 

With blues music in his DNA, DIESEL has blended styles to come up with a truly unique sound, punctuated with his distinct guitar playing and vocals.

The GIANTS will also celebrate the 2015 Toyota Multicultural Round at Spotless Stadium with a range of performers and activities to highlight the contribution multicultural communities have made to the game’s history.

The match will also welcomes new communities, cultures and nationalities to embrace Australian Football as fans, players, umpires or administrators.

GIANTS match days are great fun for the whole family with kick to kick after every game on top of some of Australia’s best performers on the Virgin Australia Stage.

The GIANTS take on Essendon on Sunday, August 9 at 3.20pm at Spotless Stadium.

Tickets start from $24 for an adult and $48 for a family of two adults and two kids with children under 15 free.
