In the lead up to the GIANTS' clash with Fremantle at Domain Stadium in Perth, we’ve examined some of the key statistical components that could influence the match.

Fyfe Factor - Fremantle’s star midfielder Nat Fyfe won’t take his place against the GIANTS after suffering from groin soreness. Fyfe has played every game this season, averaging 30 touches, four marks, four tackles and one goal. Nat Fyfe has also vaulted to No.1 on the Official AFL Player ratings for the first time in his career.

Terrific Toby - Toby Greene has excelled against Fremantle on the past three encounters, accumulating an average of 29 touches each match. Greene has played a somewhat different role this season, pushing forward on occasion to help contribute to the scoreboard.

Hit-out Kings - GIANTS ruckmen Tom Downie and Rory Lobb have a big task ahead of them, facing off against one of the AFL’s most damaging big men, Aaron Sandilands. Fremantle are leading the hit-outs in 2015 (averaging 61 per game) with Sandilands averaging 44 per game.

Oh Captain, My Captain - GIANTS co-captain Phil Davis looks set to return from injury after missing the last five matches with an ankle complaint. Davis is ranked 4th in the league for average one percenters such as spoils, smothers and blocks. He averages just under nine defensive acts per game this season.

Domain Dominance - In their history the GIANTS and Fremantle have crossed paths three times, all of which were played at Domain Stadium. Fremantle have only lost one game at home this season against Richmond. The GIANTS are yet to win at Domain Stadium against any team.

Last Time They Met - It was Fremantle who took the four premiership points when the sides met last in Round 17, 2014. Fremantle were far too strong for the GIANTS, winning by 76 points. The Dockers led scoring shots 31-15, clearances 47-31 and inside 50s 57-29. Hayden Ballantyne starred kicking five goals.
