Coach Leon Cameron will have a number of selection challenges to face when choosing his final team to face Fremantle in Perth on Sunday.

The GIANTS have named a squad of 25 for the match ahead of their flight west on Friday night.

Defender Nathan Wilson will return to his home state of Western Australia after being named in the backline while co-captain Phil Davis, defender Matt Buntine, ruckman Andrew Phillips and forwards James Stewart and Will Hoskin-Elliott have all been named on an extended interchange bench.

If named it will be Davis’ first game since sustaining an ankle injury in the GIANTS’ loss to Collingwood in round 11 while Buntine has missed one match after a concussion in round 16.

“Its obviously a huge challenge against the Dockers,” coach Leon Cameron said.

“Phil Davis has rehabbed really well the last six weeks and is keen to get back and play some good footy in the back half of the year. Hoskin-Elliott has been in really good form and so has Nathan Wilson just to name a few.

“We’ve just got to go over and play better footy than what we contributed last week. We’ve got to bounce back against the Dockers.”

Defenders Nick Haynes and Zac Williams and forward Devon Smith have all been ruled out with injuries. Haynes will miss this week with a groin injury while Smith (knee) and Williams (hamstring) both picked up minor injuries during last weekend’s match against Geelong.

The GIANTS will head west, trying to get their first win at Domain Stadium in their history. Cameron knows it will be a tough task against the competition’s benchmark in the Dockers.

“It hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for us whether we play the Eagles or the Dockers,” Cameron said.

“Part of our improvement this year is 120 minutes of footy, whether we win the game or lose the game is irrelevant at times.

“We’ve done it for most of the year and we have to do it against a really good, quality side in Fremantle. We’ve just got to play good footy in all parts of the ground.”

The ninth-placed GIANTS take on ladder leaders Fremantle at Domain Stadium in Perth on Sunday August 2 at 4.40pm EST with live coverage on Fox Footy and 7mate across NSW and the ACT from 4.30pm.
