LAST WEEK

The Giants hosted the Cats in Canberra on the weekend and unfortunately the result didn’t go the fans we had hoped.

The lowest scoring Fantasy game of the weekend saw Adam Treloar (106) the only Giant to score a ton. His score equalled Joel Selwood’s performance for the Cats as the only two players to finish with over 100 Fantasy points.

Heath Shaw’s form continued with his season average at 95. This has helped him to a $90K price increase and his popularity rising to 11.25%.

Despite starting the game slowly, Jack Steele (53) mustered together a respectable score and although his breakeven has crept up to 56, it is recommended to hold him for a couple of extra weeks to milk the cash out of him and the upgrade to a premium. Alternatively, as a FWD/MID, he will be a very handy bench player.

TOP 5 SCORERS V GEELONG

  • 108 – Adam Treloar (MID, $550,000)
  • 97 – Stephen Coniglio (MID, $490,000)
  • 91 – Lachlan Whitfield (MID, $425,000)
  • 90 – Heath Shaw (MID, $546,000)
  • 89 – Tom Scully (MID, $487,000)

ON THE RADAR

The third and final round of dual position player adjustments went through earlier this week.

Only one Giant warranted a position addition and that was Ryan Griffen.

Since round 11, Griffen’s role has changed and the midfielder is now playing more of a defensive role off half back. He has won 34% of this disposals in the defensive 50 and his scoring has increased in that time. Griffen’s five game average is 98 and would rank him fifth overall of available defenders.

At $468,000, consider Griffen as a defender heading into the last six rounds.

WHAT’S COMING UP

In round 17 last season, the Giants played Fremantle at Subiaco and the same scenario will be happening in round 18.

Callan Ward (125), Toby Greene (118), Adam Tomlinson (113) and Devon Smith (108) were the best for the game.
