Rhys Palmer has overcome a long lay off from a shoulder injury to be available for selection this week.

Palmer, Liam Sumner and Jacob Townsend have all returned to full training and could line up for the GIANTS in either the AFL or the NEAFL on Sunday.

Palmer injured his shoulder in his 100th AFL game on ANZAC Day in round four while Sumner (foot and wrist) and Townsend (foot) will play for the first time this season.

Lachie Plowman (elbow - two weeks), Adam Tomlinson (toe - seven weeks), Jonny Patton (knee - TBC) and Tim Mohr (knee - TBC) are the only other GIANTS on the injury list.

Tim Mohr has also begun his rehabilitation from his second knee reconstruction after a successful surgery last week.

The GIANTS play Brisbane on Sunday at 1.10pm at Spotless Stadium while the UWS GIANTS play the Brisbane Lions reserves as a curtain-raiser at 9.30am.
