Tim Golds and Rory Lobb will face tests this week after the UWS GIANTS’ win over the Swans Reserves last weekend.

Midfielder Golds sat out the second half of the NEAFL match as a precaution after suffering a knock to the head while ruckman Lobb came off in the final quarter after hurting his ankle.

Both players should be available for selection for this weekend.

Explosive forward Will Hoskin-Elliott made an early return from injury in the same game, kicking five goals for the UWS GIANTS.

Hoskin-Elliott hurt his right shoulder in the GIANTS’ final NAB Challenge game against the Swans last month and was expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

However a solid rehabilitation campaign will now see him available for the GIANTS historic ANZAC Day clash with the Gold CoastSuns at StarTrack Oval, Canberra on Saturday.

There were no injuries to come out of the GIANTS’ 21-point loss to the Swans.

Jon Patton (knee), Lachie Plowman (elbow), Liam Sumner (wrist), Jacob Townsend (foot), Jeremy Finlayson (hip) and Sam Schulz (hip) remain in the rehab group and are expected to return to the field in the coming weeks.
