GIANTS ruckman Shane Mumford has been cleared by the Match Review Panel to play against the Gold Coast Suns on ANZAC Day at StarTrack Oval, Canberra.

Mumford was reported for engaging in rough conduct against Swans defender Jeremy Laidler but was cleared of any wrongdoing on Monday.

After speaking to the umpire who laid the report and conducting a further investigation, the Match Review Panel could not be satisfied that a reportable offence had occurred and no further action was taken.

Mumford - who switched to the GIANTS in 2014 following four years at the Swans - had 13 disposals, 28 hit-outs and six tackles in the GIANTS' 21-point loss.

In the post-match press conference, GIANTS coach Leon Cameron praised the competitiveness of his ruckman.

"Look, Mummy plays the game hard, he plays the game tough," Cameron said.

"There is no doubt he is never ever going to back down."
