The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have informed the AFL that Assistant Coach Mark McVeigh will not take part in the NAB Challenge.

General Manager Football Graeme Allan said the decision was consistent with 2012 listed Essendon players not participating in the NAB Challenge. He will also not take part in this Friday’s intra-club game at Blacktown.

"The club and Mark believe this is in his best interests as he awaits the outcome of the AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal hearings relating to the cases of past and present Essendon players," Allan said.

"While Mark will not participate in any match day duties during the NAB Challenge, he enjoys our full support and will continue in his role at the club."
