The GIANTS will visit Canberra and southern New South Wales for their Australia Post AFL Community Camp in February.

It will be the club’s fourth Australia Post AFL Community Camp in Canberra, while the GIANTS will also visit Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Albury, Batemans Bay, Broken Hill and Bathurst on February 17 and 18.

GIANTS players will visit schools, hospitals and local football clubs on the two day camp as well as completing a training session at a local community ground.

More than 800 AFL players will take the game to regional and rural communities around Australia and New Zealand in the lead up to the 2015 Toyota AFL Premiership season.

GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said the GIANTS were again looking forward to visiting Canberra and regional NSW in the lead-up to the 2015 season.

“Canberra and southern NSW are integral parts of the GIANTS and we love getting out and meeting fans in this region,” he said.

“We’re building a strong fan base there and it’s reflected in the number of people playing the game and attending AFL matches.

"2015 promises to be a big year for AFL in Canberra with our ANZAC Day match against Gold Coast, games against big Victorian clubs Geelong and Melbourne as well as a NAB Challenge match against the Sydney Swans."

ACT Deputy Chief Minister Andrew Barr said that the camps were an important part of the relationship between the GIANTS and the ACT, building strong links between the club and local institutions.

“I am delighted to see the GWS GIANTS continuing to support the ACT community and help grow the sport in our region,” he said.
