There’s nothing better than a win. And this week, every day we’ll take a look back at each of the GIANTS’ wins in the 2014 season. Kicking off with our historic win over our cross-town rivals and including our first win away from home, our biggest-ever win, our first win at the MCG and the final-round thriller at Etihad Stadium, we’ll have a full wrap of each win along with the match highlights and team song.

ROUND 3

GWS GIANTS 12.11 (83) def. Melbourne 7.5 (47)

After winning just one game last season, the GIANTS had already doubled that tally by the end of Round 3 this year.

Back at home at Spotless Stadium, the GIANTS overcome Melbourne by 32-points in a dour contest in the rain.

The Demons got themselves in front for the first time in the match late in the third term and were still within a point early in the final quarter, but they couldn't go on as the GIANTS secured their second win in-a-row against Melbourne.

Adam Treloar had some moments of brilliance with 33 touches and a goal while Shane Mumford had 60 hit-outs, the third most in recorded history.

Number two draft pick Josh Kelly kicked two fourth-quarter goals in just his second game to help seal the result, with Jon Patton and Jeremy Cameron also adding two apiece.

The GIANTS dominated the tackle count 115-69 and owned the clearances 61-36 to belt out the team song for just the fifth time in their history.
