The GIANTS completed a clean-sweep of the coaches’ votes in the AFLCA Defence Housing Australia Champion Player of the Year for Round 21.

Young GIANTS forward Devon Smith received nine votes from Leon Cameron and Paul Roos for his 31-possession, two goal performance against the Demons while Rhys Palmer was given six votes for his career-high four goals.

Every round the AFL coaches vote for the best players from their game. The coaches vote for five players, giving them a mark from 1-5.

The maximum a player can score is 10 (with five votes from both coaches).

In his fifth game for the year, defender Matt Buntine received four votes for his performance on James Frawley with Tom Bugg given three for his career-high 33-possession game.

Shane Mumford, Josh Kelly, Dylan Shiel and Adam Tomlinson rounded out the votes for the GIANTS.

Sunday’s win was the club’s fifth for the year and the third time this year the GIANTS have had a clean-sweep of the voting.
