The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have thrown their support behind football on Good Friday.

Speaking at the Adelaide Oval, coach Leon Cameron said the GIANTS welcomed the debate about football on Good Friday.

"I think it's definitely something the AFL should look at," Cameron said.

"We were in Sydney yesterday and there was an NRL game with a crowd of about 44,000 and an outstanding atmosphere by all reports so absolutely I think the AFL should be exploring it."

A number of AFL club have expressed an interest in playing on Good Friday which traditionally has been a football free today for the AFL, although a number of suburban and country leagues play.
