Former NBL basketballer Dean Brogan made the switch to AFL after the 1998-1999 NBL Championship and debuted for Port Adelaide in 2001.
Brogan won an AFL Premiership with the Power in 2004 and was named vice-captain of the club in 2010.
He announced his retirement from AFL at the end of 2011 but changed his mind and was traded to the GIANTS to begin a playing and coaching role.
Brogan spent 2012 and 2013 as the GIANTS’ ruckman, with additional responsibility for helping develop our young ruckmen, playing 19 games for the club to take his total to 193 games across his 13-year career.
Brogan began his full-time role as an Assistant Coach at the GIANTS in 2014. He has responsibility for the coaching of our stoppages and more specifically the ruckmen on the GIANTS' list.
