The GIANTS work with community partners and charities as a part of our social responsibility within Western Sydney, ACT, Southern NSW and broader communities.

The GIANTS aim to work with a number of community partners to address relevant social issues and drive awareness.

Our community partners have a clear alignment to the GIANTS club values and objectives whilst being genuine, meaningful and respectful in our community footprint.

White Ribbon Australia is part of a global movement to end men’s violence against women. Through education, awareness raising, creative campaigns, preventative programs and partnerships, White Ribbon Australia provides the tools for men to stop violence against women in their community and beyond. The GIANTS partnership with White Ribbons is part of the GIANTS Care program which delivers on the four key pillars of the club’s community agenda; health, harmony, education and employment. Soldier On works to enhance recovery, inspire communities and empower Australians who have suffered physical and psychological injuries while in the Defence forces. The GIANTS have worked with Soldier On through a range of initiatives in Western Sydney and Canberra including fundraising support, inner sanctum experiences for veterans and mentoring programs. How can you help Soldier On:

the-smith-family-logo.jpgThe Smith Family is a national, independent children's charity helping disadvantaged Australians to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. The Smith Family delivers Learning for Life programs across 94 Australian communities, often out of the local school. The GIANTS have supported The Smith Family’s programs by offering memberships, tickets and merchandise as reward and recognition incentives. The GIANTS look to further support The Smith Family as mentors in the Western Sydney and ACT communities. Find out more:

Diabetes NSW & ACT works proactively to improve the day-to-day lives of people living with diabetes. They aim to make things easier by educating carers, employers and the general public. The GIANTS have worked with Diabetes NSW & ACT in raising awareness of the disease. The GIANTS have hosted events such as DiaBuddies at Tom Wills Oval and also supported Diabetes NSW & ACT by teaming up with Sam Reid for the Move4Diabetes campaign. The Ronald McDonald House Westmead is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family needs to focus on the health of their seriously ill child. They help lighten the burden by providing a ‘home away from home’ so families can keep close to support each other. The GIANTS have been an integral part of making the children smile with their visits through the Gentle GIANTS program, often kicking the footy with the kids, cooking a BBQ or just having a chat. One in seven young people experience a mental illness in any year. Many of those live in silence due to stigma. LIVIN is a movement founded to wipe out the stigma associated with mental illness and raise awareness for suicide prevention after co-founders Sam Webb and Casey Lyons lost a close friend. The core of LIVIN’s mission is the mantra “It Ain’t Weak to Speak.” The GIANTS as a partner of this initiative hope to implement the message and inspire GIANTS members, fans and the wider AFL community to speak up and seek help.
